Lokbharti, located on the Bhavnagar-Rajkot highway at the outskirts of village Sanosara of Bhavnagar district, 45 km away from Bhavnagar and 130 km away from Rajkot, Gujarat state, is India's first ever residential Gramvidyapith for Rural Higher Education. Set in the developed beautiful natural surroundings with expanses of greenery, the Gramvidyapith is located on the bank of river Sindri and engulfed by hills and seven reservoirs prepared by the students through exemplary display of manual labour. 550 boys and girls students stay in 10 hostels and 70 faculty members are residing with their 250 family members in the staff quarters like one big family. They provide a suitable environment for the experiment of community life. The family-like atmosphere of the institution, being a Guru in itself, has made here the entire educational process natural and live.
